Realizing A More Cost-Effective Approach For A Developing Country

PT Sistem Mikroelektronika Cerdas Co-Design is one of Indonesia's most prolific technology-based companies, mostly specializing in designing microelectronic products for remote automation and sensing. Headquartered in Bandung, Indonesia, we try to provide a more cost-effective approach in solving the various monitoring and control related problems for a country that has for decades been living through considerable social diversity, drastic geographical and climate exceptionality, and constant economical turmoil. .We believe that there is no such thing as a universal solution, which is a necessary belief to fulfill the often unpredictable technical requirements found in Indonesia. This drives us to supervise the entirety of components in the products we design. Thus, the 'co-design' approach that we use in our name. We also provide services for all kinds of already implemented microelectronic technology systems and the development of traning programs for the use of our products. 

 Company Roots

Our roots trace back from the year 1999. Indonesia was still suffering from the after-effects of Asia’s 1998 financial crisis. A small group of researchers from the ITB university in Bandung, West Java, then decided to make plans in building a start-up company to  provide products that may become alternatives for the sudden technology inavailability caused by the rapid change in the monetary field. This was how PT SMC Co-Design began.

Company Division

  The company itself is composed of several divisions, which become the motor of our company’s work.

1.  Software and Information Technology Division

The division responsible for performing tasks related to application software design and information technology. So far, its works has consisted of:

1.1       The design and installation of application softwares used in SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, telemetering units (in the case of AMR), LAN/WAN computer networks, and various DCSs (Distribution Control Systems).

1.2       The production and implementation of various computer systems and accesories

1.3       The design and implementation of specialized computer networks and Information Systems for the Management of Companies, Hospitals, Citizenry, and Employment (SIMPEG)

1.4       The design and implementation of homepages for product promotion

1.5       The design and implementation of product-oriented billing systems

1.6       The design and implementation of various Global Information Systems

1.7       The design and implementation of monitoring systems based on GSM-SMS

1.8       The design and implementation of building security systems and automatization

1.9       The design and implementation of particular softwares for company needs

 

2.  Electronic Instrumentation Division

The division responsible for the design, distribution, and installation of various electronic instrument hardware, which so far has been used in various oiling, mining, petrochemical, textile, and electronic industries. Further aspects of their work has so far include:

 2.1       The design, availably, and installation of the microprocessor-based automatic meter reading methods used in radio communication and power line carriers

2.2       The design, availably, and installation of various remote monitoring and control systems (such as SCADA)

2.3       The design, availably, and installation of an original calibration system used for power meters

2.4       The design, availably, and installation of PC-based power analyzers

2.5       The availably and installation of electricity-measurement instruments and transducers for industries and laboratories

2.6       The design and installation of microprocessor-based voltage-control equipment for the release of electrical load.

2.7       The design and installation of radio modems for the applications in wireless data communication, telemetries, and telecontrol

2.8       The availably of relay protection testers, ELCBs, lightning conductors, and measuring instruments

2.9       The design and availably of electronic systems using multicoin validators

2.10     The availably of barcode systems for inventory and meter recordings

2.11     The availably of technology-combined plastic seals OVDS

2.12     The design of digital surveillance systems (CCTV) based on internet protocol (IP)

2.13     The availably of various barcode systems

2.14     The availably of portable-data-entry (PDE) equipment based on  contactless smartcards

2.15     The availably of optical sensors for vehicle parking and highway toll gates

 

3. Service and Training Division

The division dealing in tasks related to the various activities of enginnering services and training. So far, work by this division comprises of various service and training activities in the subjects of:

 3.1       Microprocessor, microcontroller, and PC-based microelectronic system design

3.2       Software animation for multimedia and product promotion design

3.3       Remote Terminal Unit and SCADA software design

3.4       Wireless local area network operations

3.5       Power quality and electrical energy audits

3.6       Operation and maintenance of industrial control systems; including DCS and SCADA

3.7       Repair and maintenance of industrial control systems; which include DCS, SCADA, boiler machines, and various compressor equipments based on microprocessors and PC

3.8       Repair and maintenance of electrical energy control systems, such as power plants, both industrial and public

3.9       Repair and maintenance of dam control systems

3.10     Repair and maintenance of microprocessor based measuring instruments


4.  Research and Technical Consultation Division

The division that deals in research work and providing consultation. So far its work has include:

 4.1       Consultation on the design and research of computer network information systems in industrial, government or private, corporations

4.2       Consultation on the design and research of various industrial control systems

4.3       Consultation on the design and research of microprocessor-based hardwares and softwares

4.4       Consultation of energy and power quality audits in industry, hospital, and companies
